Naturschutzverein Volksgarten
Nearly exactly 6 weeks ago, the new Essen Narturschutzverein (nature conservation) was founded at the Volksgarten Kray, chaired by park ranger Jeannette Klauenberg.
Reason for this impulsive decision was an alarming message. The contents of this message: diverse trees at the Volksgarten were to be axed.
At a site meeting with Herr Oppenberg from Grün und Gruga and biologist Frau Dr. Schmidt – Eichholz constructive collaboration has been quickly decided on.
The already marked trees will not be trimmed or felled until the breeding season of waterfowl and songbirds has ended, with the exception of traffic safety-related cases.
The statue, adopted at the founding meeting prescribes to the following fields of activity of the club:
- Lay out, care, and improvement of biotopes
- Species protection measures
- Public relation in the areas Environment and nature conservation
- Events for environment education
- Development of lasting and environmental gentle concepts
